Family Cycling Workshop: Bike Lanes

Sponsored by Bernard Green, LCI; Bern Unlimited; The Friends of the Marina Library; Rooster Wheels & Coffee in Marina; Stampede Bikes; Stefania Castillo, Transportation Planner with the City of Monterey; WoombikesUSA; Xtracycle; and Yuba Bicycles. We host year-round Family Cycling Workshops for adults who ride with their kids, and are interested in discussing the absence of dedicated infrastructure and learning how to stay safe in Monterey County. We meet in no-to-low traffic areas and talk about family gear (cargo bikes, child seats, trailers, balance bikes, helmets, etc.), "taking the lane", when to use the sidewalk, how to use bike lanes, being flexible about route selection and then we put those skills into practice.

  • Meet at Dennis the Menace Playground in Monterey, Ca.
  • Please note: For safety and quality of instruction, class size is limited to 5 families.

*Adisa (FoCMC co-founder) and Asante (co-founders' toddler) were in a car accident. Everyone is okay but all FoCMC events will need to be rescheduled until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.
